Samuel “Shmuel” Katz (December 9, 1914 – May 8, 2008) was a disciple of the great Zionist leader Ze’ev Jabotinsky. Katz was an underground leader, first member of the Knesset, publisher, historian, biographer and essayist. Above all, he was the most clear-sighted political thinker Israel has ever produced.
Shmuel holds a special place in the heart of Americans for a Safe Israel/AFSI as he was the motivating force for the creation of AFSI.
His writings are a treasure trove of political insight and an historic archive. A website dedicated to his work can be found on http://shmuelkatz.com/default.aspx
