No Progress on Talks with Iran. Bibi Heads to Washington.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to meet US President Donald Trump this Wednesday in Washington to discuss negotiations with Iran, the Prime Minister’s Office announced Saturday night.

The office emphasized that Netanyahu believes any talks must include limits on Iran’s ballistic missiles and an end to its support for regional proxy groups.

Some analysts suggest Netanyahu’s visit could serve as a strategic maneuver. The attack on Iran reportedly began with the understanding that Trump had stated, “I want negotiations, I don’t want war.”

Netanyahu is traveling to Washington not only to try to prevent a nuclear agreement but also to coordinate in case negotiations fail and military action becomes necessary.

The talks held in Oman on Friday did not produce significant progress. Another meeting was scheduled in the coming days, but it is unclear whether it will take place before Netanyahu’s arrival in Washington.

Netanyahu’s upcoming trip to meet with President Trump will emphasize the crucial message that Iran must not possess nuclear capabilities. While Iran’s proxy network, missile stockpile, and the regime’s behavior towards protesters are also pressing topics of discussion, the primary focus remains on preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. With President Trump in office Netanyahu is evidently keen to seize every opportunity to safeguard Israel from the ongoing threat posed by Iran.
