Israel Must Not Evacuate Jewish Communities Under U.S. Pressure

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has directly instructed Israel’s defense establishment to evacuate unauthorized Jewish communities established in Area B of Judea and Samaria amid heavy pressure from the US administration, according to a report Sunday morning by Ynet military correspondent Elisha Ben Kimon.

Officials familiar with the matter told Ynet that the National Security Council has issued clear instructions to remove unauthorized developments, particularly those established inside Area B.

The officials said Netanyahu is under “very heavy pressure” from the US administration over the issue and is concerned that Jewish settlement activity in Area B will continue to expand.

AFSI Insight
AFSI strongly opposes any evacuation of Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria that is being carried out because of U.S. pressure. Israel’s government must make decisions about its security, land, and Jewish communities based on Israel’s own interests—not demands from Washington or any other foreign government. At a time when Israeli security forces are reportedly thwarting dozens of terrorist attacks each week, weakening the Jewish presence in Judea and Samaria sends precisely the wrong message to Israel’s enemies.

AFSI believes Israel must stand firm on Jewish rights and sovereignty in Judea and Samaria and reject policies that reward pressure against Israel.
