    TO PROTEST AT CENTER FOR JEWISH HISTORY

    AMERICANS FOR A SAFE ISRAEL (AFSI) and JCC Watch plan to hold a protest outside The Center for Jewish History, following the revelation that Dr. David N. Myers, the organization’s new CEO and President, is a major supporter of groups that promote the boycott of Israel.
    “We plan a rally outside of The Center of Jewish History in the immediate future to demand that Dr. Myers be removed as President and CEO of The Center for Jewish History. Anyone who sits in a position of leadership for the New Israel Fund, Jewish Voices of Peace, and If Not Now, clearly anti-Israel organizations, is not a fit candidate for any position of Jewish leadership,” said Richard Allen, Founder of JCCWatch.Org. “We don’t dispute Dr. Myers’ academic credentials, but the Jewish community will not remain silent while Jewish leadership works to harm Israel”.
    Helen Freedman and Judy Freedman Kadish, co-Executive Directors of Americans For a Safe Israel stated, “We cannot stand by while the institutions that embody our Jewish community are co-opted by those who are clearly anti-Israel. A man who holds leadership positions in
    J Street, the New Israel Fund, Jewish Voices for Peace and If Not Now, is an unthinkable choice to lead a Jewish Communal Organization. The claim that he will separate his personal positions from his scholarly work on behalf of CJH is laughable at best. “History is written by the victors” is a widely accepted truism. We must not hand our history over to a man who is no friend of our ancestral homeland so that he can twist it to fit his beliefs.”

    Americans For a Safe Israel (AFSI) and JCC Watch are currently enlisting communal support and expect many organizations and rabbis to call for Dr. Myers’ removal as President and CEO of The Center for Jewish History.
