A wildfire broke out Tuesday afternoon near the Samaria community of Yitzhar, prompting an extensive response from firefighters, volunteers, and local security personnel.
According to Israel Fire and Rescue Services, three separate ignition points were identified. The fire advanced uphill toward Yitzhar from the direction of the nearby village of Madma, driven by strong winds that have intensified the spread of the flames.
AFSI Insight
This is yet another example of “arson terror” directed against Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria with the intention to endanger Jewish lives, destroy property, and intimidate residents. This attack using fire should be treated with the same seriousness as other forms of terror, especially when communities are placed at risk. Stronger security measures must be in place to protect Jewish communities throughout Judea and Samaria. Attempts to drive Jews from their homes through violence or intimidation will not succeed and Israel must respond swiftly and firmly to all acts of terror, including suspected arson attacks.
